~ Easter Poems ~
Easter Isn't Easy
I heard a funny bunny say
I just go nuts on Easter day
I hide about a zillion eggs
And baskets tangle up my legs
I'm tired, my eyes are full of tears
And overflowing to my ears
If I'm to work more Easter Days
At my age I should change my ways
I know I must do something rash
So I'll start saving all my cash
Then next year, with a little luck
I'll deliver in my pick up truck!
Would you like to know a secret?
Well, I'll tell you one of mine
The Easter's Bunny's coming
And I know that's really fine
He'll bring a basket filled with eggs
And leave it in my yard
And I will find it Easter morn
If I look very hard
I shouldn't tell my secret
But I think it should be shared
You ought to know that Bunny's coming
So you can be prepared!
Things That Easter Brings
Easter duck and Easter chick
Easter eggs with chocolate thick
Easter hats for one and all
Easter Bunny makes a call
Happy Easter always brings
Such a lot of pleasant things.
I love them in orange, in green, white and blue
So many to choose from, it is certainly true
But chocolate eggs are surely my favorite of all
I dream of them nightly from winter through fall
I'm sure I could eat them all the day long
Sometimes I think I should write them a song
I will admit my sweet weakness is deliciously felt
My only concern is the chocolate will melt!
My Easter Bunny
I had an Easter Bunny
One day she ran away
I looked for her by moonlight
I looked for her by day
I found her in the meadow
And what did I see?
She had two little babies
So now I had three!
And next year for sure I get
For my Easter treat
Three times more eggs
And eat, and eat, and eat!
The best egg artist
More than hunting big old eggs
I prefer life behind the scenes
Crafting, painting my designs
In oranges and greens
This year I will go with antique brass
Thatall make them weep
Or perhaps a nice shade of pacific blue
Oh just watch them leap
I am the best egg artist in the town
Renown both far and wide
But in the end, when children smile
That is my joy and pride
Come and see! Oh, hurry, hurry!
For the rabbit, kind and furry
Has been here again and laid
Eggs in every nest we made
Purple, orange, red, and blue
Pink and green and yellow, too
Like a bunch of finest flowers
Ever seen, and all are ours
And oh, look! What do you think
Here our names are in white ink
All spelled nicely so we know
Just where every egg should go
Is it not surprising, quite
How well Easter rabbits write?
This card to wish you
Easter joy and cheer
All throughout the year!
One happy family
Went out for a hop
They saw your house
And made a stop
They love you so
They wanted to send
An Easter treat
To their special friend.
The Easter Bunny
The Easter Bunny is a rabbit
Who has a funny kind of habit
With blurry pink and furry legs
Whizzing about, he gives out eggs
It is just because he loves giving joy
To every little girl and boy
And when his egg deliverings done
He fly beyond the setting sun
To Easter Island far away
Where happy bunnies laugh and play.
