~ Mourn Poems ~

Memories

Treasured memories
Silently kept
Of one we have loved
And will never forget.

The Chain

There will always be a heartache
And often a silent tear
But also a precious memory
Of the days when you were here
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as we leave here one by one
The chain will link again.

Space

So little space
A human takes on earth
Less than a tree in the forest
So big is the space
She leaves behind
That not a whole world
Can fill it.

Grief

A million times
A million times we cried
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died
In life we loved you dearly
In death, we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
No one could ever fill.

Misty Christmas Memories

Gentle snowflakes touch my face
As a tear trails down my cheek
Among crowds and glistening tinsel
Your face, I once more seek
Another year has come to pass
With not one glimpse of you
Except in dreams, you visit me
In shades of hazy blue
Christmas time will soon be here
I long to see your face
Just once again, to see your smile
And dream of your embrace
Christmas time is boxed up
In tones of purple hue
It's wrapped in misty memories
And laced with thoughts of you.

We'll meet again

I cannot see you with my eyes
Or hear you with my ears
But thoughts of you are with me still
And often there are tears
A part of you remains with me
That no one can take away
It gives me strength to carry on
At dawning of new day
I think of happy times we shared
And then I softly sigh
But this I know, we'll meet again
And never, never say goodbye.

From our hearts to you

There is a bridge of love
From our hearts to you
Where we've built our memories
And admiration too
This bridge of love is strongly built
To stretch far and wide
Keeping thoughts
Of our precious loved ones
Always by our sides.

Times gone by

Precious memories
Of times gone by
Still in my heart
Never to die...

Special Message

He touched the heart of many
Like only he could do
I would have hugged him much more
If the end I only knew
So I send this special message
To everyone up above
Please take care of my brother
And give him all my love.

Dad

I think of times when as a child
I took your love for granted
But at this painful time in life
I feel the seeds you planted
The seeds of strength
You placed in me
Are grown and now in bloom
Although alone, I face today
Your strength is in this room.

If I knew

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before I knew it
And nobody knows why
If I knew it would be the last time
That I see you walk out the door
I would give you hugs and kisses
And called you back for more.

Although you are not here

Dear brother, I will always love you
Although you are not here
The memories I shared with you
Are the ones I hold most dear
Your life was cut so short
Too many deeds undone
Adventures not encountered
So many songs left unsung.

Memories

Wherever the ocean meets the sky
There will be memories of you and I
When I look up at that sky so blue
All I see are visions of you
We were blessed by your presence
And warmed by your smile
We'll see you again
In only a while.

That Other Land

It is not far away
The place to which they go
It is just beyond the starlit skies
It's where the moonbeams grow
And night is day and day is night
And sorrow comes no more
Where love abides beyond the tides
Upon a golden shore
And we must wait here for awhile
Until it's time to go
Although we carry on, we mourn
Because we miss them so.

Go ahead

Now my dad is passed away
And I miss him with all of my heart
To the other world is such a long way
Thousands of miles apart
I will always love you dad
And wish for a hug or your hand in mine
But I let you go now, go ahead
Where the wonderful sun always shine.

Dear Mommy

Please don't be so sad
I miss you so much too
It's beautiful where I am
But I worry a lot about you
I sleep with angels watching me
There's only love up here
Don't worry mom they hold my hand
When we cross a golden street
I never cry or hurt myself
And grandpa is here too
And even though you're not here with me
I'm really still with you.

In Memory

One gift, above all others
A gift to love and to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure
The precious, poignant tender gift
Of memory, that will keep
On dear ones ever in our hearts
Although death put them to sleep
It brings back long remembered things
A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place because
We had them for awhile.

The bridge

It takes us back to brighter years
To happier sunlit days
And to precious moments
That will be with us always
And these fond recollections
Are treasured in the heart
To bring us always close to those
From whom we had to part
There is a bridge of memories
From earth to the place above
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love.

Treasures

Time cannot steal the treasures
That we carry in our hearts
Nor ever dim the shining thought
Our cherished past imparts
Memories of the ones we've loved
Still cast their gentle glow
To grace our days and light our paths
Wherever we may go.
